LIVINGSTON, NJ – November 1, 2005 IDEAS International, Inc, a leading supplier of financial and logistics systems to international oil & gas operations, announced today a strategic initiative to focus resources on its expanding business in Latin America.

 

Some of the richest petroleum reserves in the Western Hemisphere are located in Latin America.  From Colombia’s Caribbean coast to the Andean foothills of Peru lie a checker board of oil rich tracts from which South America oil production supplies the US with 20% of it oil needs.  Further, National oil companies such as PEMEX (Mexico), ANH (Colombia), Petrobras (Brazil), Ecopetrol (Ecuador) are encouraging investment in exploration and development activities through bidding rounds and approval of exploration, production and technical evaluation agreements.

 

As part of this initiative, IDEAS has established a direct presence in South America by establishing a representative based in Bogotá, Colombia.  Fernando Caldas Gacharna has been appointed IDEAS Senior Consultant and will provide service and support to regional customers.  Fernando has twenty years experience in the oil and gas industry and information technology with industry companies such as ELF, Perenco, GHK, Sipetrol and Hupecol.
