IDEAS Project Expert Highlights

 
Data Flow - Through full integration with the financial modules, information flows into the PE system. This means project managers do not have to wait until the end of an accounting period to know if their projects are on target. Moreover, it provides visibility into future expenses as commitments are recorded. The information is presented in non-accounting terms that project managers can easily understand and use.
Project Summarization - Managers can structure projects the way they do business. Project Expert tracks information in layers of summarization. This approach provides a top-to-bottom view of project performance — from a multi-project view down to a snapshot of individual projects and sub-projects.
System Integration - Project data can be managed and presented by other IDEAS financial modules, including Allocations, Budgeting and the Financial Report Writer. This common financial data, combined with the unique user-defined data from Project Expert, creates a powerful base of information to manage your projects.
Data Consistency - The accounting staff and project managers share a common set of data.  This approach allows both to use the same systems, ensuring accurate and timely analysis from a single financial database that is complete and accessible.
Customer & Internal Audits - Specific financial information about each project and sub-project is retained for the life of the project.  Having reports of all the purchase orders or invoices for a project, for example, greatly helps when a project is being audited internally or by the customer.
Performance & Detail Reporting - A set of standard financial reports are available, which provide a clear presentation of project and program financial performance. Additional detail reports provide full listings of historic documents, such as project purchase orders, invoices and payment information. In addition, the full complement of inquiries and reports are available in the IDEAS General Ledger and Financial Report Writer.
Variable Fields - Each project type defined to the PE system supports up to 100 user-defined fields.  These are organized as up to 10 entry fields on up to 10 tabs.  These fields can contain text, dates, numbers or you can choose from user-defined lists.
Email Notification - Functionality within PE allows you to define “alerts”, which trigger sending emails to the project manager, engineer and/or accountant.  These alerts can be based on project dates or financial performance.
Enhanced Security - As with other IDEAS modules, you can implement even greater system control through the Enhanced Security module.
